Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Technical Writer to join our team. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will create clear and concise documentation that effectively communicates complex information. You will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify documentation needs, draft internal policies and procedures, and ensure these changes are communicated across departments. This is a senior-level role requiring leadership in end-to-end delivery of complex documentation projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and delivery of clear, timely change announcements, ensuring that impacted teams are informed, aligned, and able to adapt quickly.
  • Create and maintain procedural articles in the Knowledge Base, following established voice, tone, and style guidelines.
  • Drive internal communications by drafting announcements, updating knowledge base content, and creating onboarding materials.
  • Lead in-depth interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather detailed and accurate information.
  • Leverage tools such as MadCap Flare, Jira Service Desk, Monday.com, and Microsoft Office Suite to manage documentation workflows.
  • Meet strict deadlines for content delivery, balancing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Lead large-scale documentation projects, such as manual migrations or cross-department procedure development.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior and mid-level technical writers, promoting best practices and professional growth.
  • Manage the internal review and approval process, with authority to approve documentation created by junior and mid-level writers to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure documentation aligns with business goals and user needs.
  • Gather, incorporate, and track stakeholder feedback to continuously improve content quality.
  • Manage upkeep of documentation templates and style standards to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality across content.
  • Travel required less than 5%.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in technical writing.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of structured authoring and MadCap Flare.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira Service Desk, and Monday.com.
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Punctuality and consistent attendance are expected.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of leadership and provide constructive feedback.

  • Available for full-time position, overtime eligible if classified non-exempt.

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $85,000 to $97,500 annually.
