Overview

We are seeking a top-tier Senior Paid Search Strategist to take ownership of our Paid Search program across both Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising platforms. This hands-on role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in direct response-focused paid search lead generation within industries characterized by long offline sales cycles and high monthly ad-spend.  

The ideal candidate will excel in both tactical execution and strategic development, driving channel growth through in-platform optimization, high-level strategy formulation, and a robust testing roadmap. You will collaborate cross-functionally with the website CRO team, sales team, and internal creative resources to optimize the full marketing funnel and deliver exceptional performance.

Responsibilities

Paid Search Channel Management 

  • Develop, execute, and optimize large-scale paid search campaigns across platforms Google and Bing.  
  • Understand advanced tracking solutions (e.g., offline conversion integrations) to measure offline sales outcomes and tie them back to ad performance.  
  • Test various bid strategies and optimization events using a combination of online and offline event data. 
  • Ensure campaigns meet ROAS and CPA targets. 
  • Understand advanced features such as the use of Google Ads scripts for automations or alerts, business data feeds, and ad customizers. 
  • Understand different attribution models and how they work in principle (such as Data Driven Attribution), time lag, cross channel conversions, and path length. 
  • Perform semantic search query analysis and ensure query to ad and landing page consistency. 
  • Perform deep analysis to find incremental wins and optimizations across various forms of segmentation. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with website, CRO, and Sales teams to monitor and optimize the full funnel and test landing pages. 
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop direct-response focused ad copy that drives performance. 
  • Work with the website team to build and test sitelink landing pages. 

Competitive Research & Strategy Development 

  • Conduct thorough competitive analysis to understand industry trends and strategies. 
  • Inform and adapt our approach to stay ahead in the market.  
  • Monitor auction insights and make bid adjustments in response to changes in competitive pressure and auction dynamics 

Analytics and Reporting 

  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and leverage insights to drive continuous improvement and scalability. 
  • Candidates with experience communicating results to senior leadership teams are strongly preferred.  

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • ​​​Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field preferred. 
  • ​5 years of hands-on experience in paid search advertising, focusing on direct-response ads in lead-gen industries with long offline sales cycles (ideally in the debt space) 
  • ​Must have experience running large-scale accounts that spend over $1MM/month on paid media. 
  • ​Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including creative, web design, and conversion rate optimization specialists.  
  • ​Familiarity with A/B testing, attribution models, and Google’s drafts and experiments.  
  • ​A history of managing budgets effectively to achieve ROAS and CPA goals. 
  • Candidates who have experience working both in-house and at agencies are preferred. ​​

  • ​Deep understanding of data-driven marketing and performance optimization.  
  • ​Proven ability to optimize campaigns effectively to drive scale while meeting ROAS and CPA goals. 

Analytical & Technical Proficiency 

  • ​Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract meaningful insights from data and apply them to campaign strategies.  
  • ​Expertise in utilizing advanced tracking solutions, such as offline conversions integrations, to measure offline sales outcomes.  
  • ​Proficiency in using analytics tools to monitor campaign performance and identify areas for improvement. 

Strategic & Collaborative Mindset 

  • ​A growth hacker mindset: scrappy, resourceful, and focused on driving measurable results. 
  • ​Ability to develop high-level strategies while executing tactical plans 
  • ​Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including CRO, Sales, and creative resources 
  • ​Skilled in conducting competitive research to inform and drive strategy​
  • Experience communicating marketing strategy and results to senior leadership teams.

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $103,000 to $115,500.
