Overview

National Debt relief is seeking a Systems Administrator I to join our growing technology team.  Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration of critical infrastructure systems, ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. 

 

The Systems Administrator ensures the smooth day to day operation of the existing infrastructure.  This role with work alongside members of the Infrastructure and Helpdesk teams with a goal of maximum reliability while maintaining system integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of infrastructure systems across multiple sites.
  • Administer and support Windows Servers across a physical and virtual (VMware) environment.
  • Perform server administration tasks, including Active Directory user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, printing services and resource monitoring.
  • Administer the O365 environment including troubleshooting, implementing new features, and managing end to end Exchange mail flow, archiving, retention, and spam prevention.
  • Serve as an escalation point for L3 tickets from the end user support team; assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support.
  • Providing the highest level of back-end support by identifying, prioritizing, and determining a solution for reported customer issues and problems.
  • Serving as a technical point of contact for assessing and analyzing all enterprise client systems, hardware, and software issues.
  • Administer the patch management and application deployment solution for servers and desktops; maintain established application packaging and OS patching standards.
  • Monitor datacenter health daily using existing management tools and respond to hardware, software, and environmental issues as they arise.
  • Create PowerShell scripts for automation of operational processes across both the server and desktop environments.
  • Work with mindset to ensure that company policies and standards are followed.
  • Monitor server backups daily, alerting the Infrastructure Engineering team of any issues.
  • Monitor antivirus system daily, alerting the security team of any issues.
  • Keep up to date on current technologies, industry news, standards, and industry trends.
  • Systems changes outside of business hours or after-hours support may be required.
  • Be able to perform any additional IT tasks deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred.
  • No previous experience required, 2 years’ proven hands-on system administration experience providing monitoring, maintenance, and administration of technology infrastructure preferred.
  • Financial services industry experience preferred.
  • This is a remote position with the expectation to reside 2 hours from our NYC office for when business needs required and/or emergency purposes.

Technical

  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory users and computers, Windows 10, and Server 2016.
  • Proven experience in Office 365 administration and able to create and maintain PowerShell scripts.
  • Systems and application monitoring experience.
  • Sound understanding of operation and change management methodologies and familiarity with industry standards (ITIL).

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $77,000 to $90,000 annually.
