Overview

National Debt Relief (NDR) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Benefits and Wellness Leader to lead the organization’s comprehensive benefits program. This role will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to design and implement benefits strategies and programs that are competitive, innovative, and aligned with the organization’s goals. In addition to managing the overall benefits program, the Director of Benefits and Wellness will oversee a team of professionals responsible for the day-to-day administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of all benefit and wellness offerings.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration and communication of all benefit programs including benefit health, wellness, welfare, leave of absence, retirement and voluntary insurance plans
  • Research, design and propose new or revised benefit offerings and trainings that align with the company’s benefits strategy
  • Facilitate annual benefits pricing and design efforts, including regular plan reviews in partnership with Finance, HR, benefits broker, and benefits providers.
  • Provide necessary data to assist in preparing budgetary recommendations as well as information on utilization trends and program enrollment
  • Maintain satisfactory audit and regulatory compliance and complete regulatory ERISA filings for benefit plans
  • Managing/supporting vendor relationships of benefit programs
  • Oversee and manage the administration of all leave related benefits including DBL, PFL, STD, FMLA, ADA and Workers Comp; in accordance with city, state and federal laws
  • Partner with HR leadership and legal counsel in creating, updating and modifying benefit and HR related policies as needed; to meet organizational objectives and ensure legal compliance 
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal and local government rules, laws and regulations, and other applicable labor and/or tax laws; including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA and PII to fulfill compliance and reporting requirements
  • Manage annual open enrollment process, including plan implementation/changes and the development of communication materials; partner with benefit brokers, TPA’s, carriers and HR management
  • Lead identification, analysis and resolution of any benefit issues and provide short term and long-term solutions based on best practices
  • Provide subject matter expertise and accurately interpret, counsel, communicate and educate HR and business managers on benefit related situations, leave of absence cases, policies and processes
  • Manage team of two or more Benefit Specialists/Administrators; providing training, guidance and serving as escalation point for any complex issues and inquiries from employees, HR, benefit providers and other stakeholders

Qualifications

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources/Labor Relations or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in HR and Benefits roles and leading a team
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills- Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Cross-Functional Relationship Building
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive a culture of continues improvement and growth
  • Organized and extremely detail-orientated
  • Extensive knowledge of benefits related regulations, laws and processes
  • Ability to understand and operate with organizational values and culture
  • Significant ability to work collaboratively and partner with all levels of the organization to achieve results
  • MS Office proficiency and strong communication skills
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments

NDR Role Qualifications:

  • Computer competency, including the use of a keyboard and ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Punctuality expected, ready to report to work on a consistent basis.
  • Attain and maintain high performance expectations on a monthly basis.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Use and navigate multiple computer systems with exceptional multi-tasking skills.
  • Remain calm and professional during difficult discussions.
  • Take constructive feedback.
  • Available for full-time position, overtime eligible if classified non-exempt.

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $147,500 to $182,500.
