Overview

National Debt Relief is seeking a Desktop Engineer to join the Desktop Engineering team. The Desktop Engineering team's primary role is to support and maintain NDR’s remote desktop infrastructure, along with desktop infrastructure in the New York and the Dominican Republic office locations.  The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for the design, engineering, implementation and management of desktop solutions and client technologies.  The Desktop Engineer will partner with the Infrastructure, Information Security and Desktop Support teams to plan, test, and deploy software rollouts, updates, patches and group policy changes.  The Desktop Engineer will be an escalation point for L3 tickets from the End User Services team.     

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain and upgrade technology related to desktop infrastructure and end user systems
  • Create and maintain desktop images for the End User Services team
  • Perform monthly Windows updates to thousands of endpoints, providing management with monthly reports
  • Package and deploy applications and scripts to desktops
  • Create, maintain and troubleshoot scripts to perform automated tasks to resolve desktop issues
  • Create, maintain, update and troubleshoot Group Policies pushed out in the desktop environment
  • Create and maintain documentation and knowledgebase articles related to the desktop environment
  • Work with the End User Services Operations team to manage desktop hardware inventory and software assets in the asset management system
  • Serve as an escalation point to Desktop Analysts to resolve Level 3 support tickets
  • Proactively identify potential issues in the desktop environment and work with the IT teams to implement solutions
  • Evaluate new products, services and make recommendations to the End User Services Director

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in information systems or IT related discipline preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in a Desktop Engineering role required

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience handling software deployments and patches in multi-thousand endpoint environment comprised of Windows 10 and Mac OSX
  • Prior experience utilizing End Point Management solutions
  • Extensive knowledge troubleshooting PC hardware, software and peripherals
  • Proven experience creating, maintaining and updating Group Policy objects
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with Microsoft and third party monthly patching processes
  • Proven experience packaging applications and PowerShell scripting
  • Experience creating and updating desktop images
  • Strong knowledge and support of Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Prior experience creating and maintaining Active Directory user accounts and 0365 user mailboxes
  • Experience maintaining hardware and software asset management systems
  • Prior experience managing technology projects and deployments
  • Exposure to PC virtualization technology preferred
  • Ability to think strategically and deal effectively with competing priorities and demands
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented culture

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $109,500 to $132,500.
