Overview

National Debt Relief is a growth-oriented debt settlement company committed to providing effective and transparent solutions to our clients. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a proactive and strategic Director of Compliance to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in ensuring that our compliance strategy and practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The Director of Compliance will oversee the strategic development, implementation, and management of compliance policies and procedures. This role will involve working closely with senior executives to identify compliance gaps, design organizational workflows, and execute compliance projects. The ideal candidate will be a high-level independent worker with a flexible mindset, capable of thriving in a startup-like environment.

Responsibilities

Compliance Policy Management:

  • Lead the integration of policy management systems into internal management tool.
  • Ensure that all compliance-related policies are accurately reflected and updated within our platform.

Compliance Communications:

  • Develop and disseminate clear and concise compliance communications to the organization.
  • Ensure that all team members are informed about compliance policies and updates.
  • Develop and delivers compliance-related training sessions.
  • Present to organization stakeholders on root causes, upcoming regulations, and potential compliance risks.

Policy Identification and Development:

  • Interpret legislation or pending legislation and develop strategies for ensuring organizational compliance.
  • Identify and address any gaps in current compliance policies or new policies needed.
  • Design and implement new organizational compliance workflows to address identified needs.
  • Suggest and oversee implementation of risk mitigation strategies.

Project Execution:

  • Manage and execute various compliance projects, including policy management, trademark updates, and audit preparations.
  • Lead and direct the work of other team members and leaders to ensure collaboration and project execution.

Audit Preparation:

  • Prepare and execute internal and external audits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all necessary documentation.
  • Act as the company representative during inspections by external authorities or governing bodies.

Organizational Compliance Awareness:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase organizational awareness and adherence to compliance requirements through effective communication and training.
  • Monitor and report on compliance gaps, taking appropriate action to address issues.
  • Investigate allegations of illegal, improper, or unethical conduct by team members or company representatives.

Ad Hoc Requests:

  • Manage and respond to ad hoc compliance-related requests from various departments.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Compliance certifications (e.g., CCEP, CISM) are a plus.
  • 10 years’ experience in related roles, with at least 5 years compliance experience required.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Banking, policy development, and/or financial services industry experience is a plus.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience in policy management, compliance communications, decision making and project execution.
  • Experience establishing departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations, legislation and best practices, plus the ability to clearly translate updates for communication to a broader audience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strength in strategic planning and departmental goal setting in collaboration with Senior Leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives and staff at all levels.

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $165K-$207.5K annual.
