Overview

The Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products and solutions to help National Debt Relief better support their clients. This role requires extensive experience with Salesforce, as well as a proven track record of leading engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of modern engineering practices and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the engineering team, including recruitment, career development, SDLC process, and performance management.
  • Develop, oversee, and execute the software engineering strategy in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives. Including the optimization and implementation of best practices for scalable, high performance software solution development, quality assurance, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Drive execution and delivery of business value, ensuring teams have clear priorities.
  • Ensure the successful integration and optimization of Salesforce and other software solutions within the company’s technology stack.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Product team, helping guide and fine-tune solutions, identifying pitfalls, and improving project timeline accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support, to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Lead and facilitate solution design with product managers and engineering teams, translating requirements into detailed technical specifications with a focus on enterprise architecture, data management and integration.
  • Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Manage vendor relationships to support active production deployments.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, and assess their potential impact on the company’s products and services that can improve speed-to-market, including build vs. buy decisions.
  • Drive cultural change and innovation by advocating for team technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 10+ years in software engineering, with at least five in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce, including solution design and development.
  • Advanced Salesforce certifications a plus.
  • Experience in a high growth or startup environments preferred.
  • Strong skills in solution design, architecture, and strategic problem-solving using Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions to business problems.
  • Experience managing complex software engineering organizations, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Thorough knowledge of software development through automation tools, including experience managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Github, Gearset, or Copado.
  • Strong familiarity with Agile project management processes and tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Independent and comfortable in a fast-paced, interdependent work environment.
  • Exceptionally organized with meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $275,000 to $350,000.
