Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Application Security Architect to lead our application security initiatives. You will be responsible for the strategic implementation of security measures to protect our applications and data across the company, while shaping our security posture as well as identifying and removing bottlenecks for your teammates and colleagues, both in process and technology.

 

As an Application Security Architect, you will be a vital member of our AppSec team, dedicated to developing, implementing, and advocating for the right level of security integration within our software development lifecycle (SDLC). You will lead efforts in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating security risks related to application development and deployment, ensuring that our applications, services, and infrastructure are designed and implemented securely.This role will report to the VP of Information Security.

Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments of applications, APIs, and infrastructure components within our AWS environment, Salesforce, MuleSoft, and website platforms.
  • Develop and implement security measures, controls, and best practices to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform security reviews and code analysis to identify and assist Product & Engineering team in the remediation of security vulnerabilities in applications and codebases.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and engineers, to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Monitor and analyze security events and incidents and respond promptly to security events or incidents to minimize impact and ensure business continuity.
  • Stay abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of security posture.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on application security-related matters, providing guidance and mentorship to team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience in application security with a focus in AWS, Salesforce, MuleSoft, and website security required.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, AWS Security Specialty, etc.) are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and best practices, including OWASP Top 10, SANS/CWE Top 25, and secure coding practices.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, such as web application firewalls (WAF), vulnerability scanners, code analysis tools, and SIEM solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, etc.) for automation and tool development.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, AWS Security Specialty) are a plus.

Compensation Information

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $172,000 to $207,000.
